It’s All About Philanthropy

Texas Sigma Chi Derby Days is more than just a casual college get-together.

Texas Derby Days provides an opportunity for sororities at The University of Texas to take an active role in fundraising for local and national philanthropies while participating in fun competitions against each other. The multi-day event allows sororities to go head to head in competitions, while they work together leading a positive change in the community. The competition coincides with a two-week fundraising effort for sororities, and the winners of Derby Days are always the sororities that raise the most money for charity.

The Sororities

The twelve sororities are competing for more than just bragging rights (although, that’s plenty incentive on its own). The champion’s claim 40% of the total funds donated throughout the event for a donation to the charity of their choice. Every elliptical work out, every walk to class, every Instagram post has prepared them for this week. In short, lifelong training is going to be put to the test. Meet the competitors here.
